VOLUNTEER COUNSELLORS
We are looking for a qualified volunteer counsellor to join our team. We are a generic service offering free one to one counselling, couple counselling and Christian counselling. Relevant experience and sympathy with our ethos required.

VOLUNTEER COUNSELLORS -
- Are required to have a diploma in counselling and be members of a professional counselling body (BACP, COSCA, ACC etc.) working within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
- Are asked to commit to a minimum of 1 year.
- Are asked to give a minimum of three hours of counselling per week and to attend team meetings (approximately 8 per year).
- Are comfortable to work within the Christian ethos of the service.
- Are required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake necessary vetting checks.
MAIN FUNCTION
To be part of the team of volunteer staff and students on placement delivering counselling to those in need.
MAIN DUTIES
To provide counselling (up to 10 week contract) to individuals or couples.
To offer Christian counselling (only if this agreed at assessment).
To contribute to the development of the service.
To attend and contribute to team meetings and help build and maintain healthy working relationships within the team.
To maintain appropriate client records and systems of administration in accordance with professional and service guidelines.
To attend external supervision in accordance with professional guidelines (the charity can support monthly supervision costs to an agreed limit).
